The QPAD Mark Model 3 Wireless Gaming Mouse is a gaming-style mouse that comes alongside a small peripheral screen – labelled the Vision Screen – showing useful real-time information about battery life, DPI and polling rate. The mouse has a 26,000 DPI optical sensor, is rechargeable via USB, and boasts up to 88 hours of battery life on a single charge.
It also has multiple inputs for connecting to PCs or other devices, with the ability to switch seamlessly between wireless 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth and USB Type-C wired modes. Meanwhile, the five programmable buttons let users customise the mouse for any play style – and companion software also works to allow customisation when it comes to mapping, DPI, macros, remaps and polling rate. The QPAD Mark Model 3 currently retails for around £99.99.

The first thing that is immediately noticeable with the mouse is just how incredibly light it is. Like, ridiculously so. Having used many over the years, they all have their own sense of weight and feel, and the Model 3 aims fairly for a pleasant glide that takes no effort at all to sweep around a desk. If some think that the light-to-use characteristic is symptomatic of a mouse that feels therefore cheap and tacky, think again.
This is a premium feel mouse at a reasonable price. Some mice – particularly those aimed at the gaming sector – tend to get caught up in grand striking designs. The Model 3 pleasingly avoids any over-the-top ambitions of grandeur. This is a simple, clean mouse (maybe even slightly boring and mundane for some), comes in black or white editions, and simply lets the quality of use and the specs under the hood do the talking for it.

When using the mouse for productivity it is of course perfectly adequate; however, where it comes into its own is in gaming, with the ultra-fast 4000 Hz polling rate and low latency delivering an excellent experience even in the trickiest combat situations. Thankfully, it is rechargeable, so no need to throw away endless batteries. That said, the 88 hours of usage is possibly slightly ambitious, at least on the tested performance Cubed3 achieved.
Lastly comes one of the more unique parts of this mouse: the accompanying Vision Screen dongle that plugs into a separate port on a PC or laptop and provides real-time information about polling rate, DPI and battery life. True, it is a bit of a gimmick, and it does annoyingly take up an extra USB slot that could be used for something more immediately useful. However, it’s a neat addition, and the information shown is genuinely useful stuff.
