Quntis has a variety of different accessories available all revolving around light. Known for its quality RGB lighting and low-profile monitor down-lighting products, one of its recent innovations is the Quntis Monitor Light Bar Focus 40cm (15.7-Inch) Black, but can it stand up with the rest of the excellent catalogue?
In the box is the lightbar itself, a monitor clamp, all of the required wires and guides, alongside the dual control touch panel. It’s neatly packaged and each component feels good in the hand. Setting the light up using Quntis’ patented mount is quite simple and works with a good variety of screens with the only real issue being setting the bar in the stand can be a little fiddly.

Once plugged in, the bar will light up in the default “white” light setting, illuminating down across the monitor. Once the user sets their light settings it will light up with these when the USB slot is powered on. This is great but it is recommended to dust the area before turning it on or it will show all of the particles clinging on the screen’s surface. The light is pretty bright and pleasingly brightens up the area without overtly affecting how visible the screen is.
There are quite a few different settings in terms of colour temperature and brightness. This should help all buyers find settings that work for them. There are also some automated features to try and adjust brightness for optimal eye strain reduction. It’s impressive and seems to be very quick and responsive to changing light levels.

Where it sometimes falls short, at least in the model Cubed3 has for review, is that the light has a tiny squealing sound on its highest brightness when using the coldest temperature setting. It’s consistent and repeatable so most of the review focused on the warmest light setting at a mid-light level.
The device looks slick on top of a monitor and the included “dual control” panel is stylish and futuristic. It is a separate wireless device that has a fun circular but extruded shape. The buttons are touch activated rather than something physical and they react visibly when pressed. There is no real delay between the control panel and the light itself, making it very easy to control from a comfortable sitting position.

Naturally, this is a great product for reducing eye strain. With its auto-light sensing, it will adjust the intensity of the light as the room gets darker, stopping it from being too dim or bright without user input.
