TESSAN Plug Extension Socket with 3 USB

TESSAN Plug Extension Socket with 3 USB Review

by Adam Riley 19 March 2026 0

Charging clutter builds up quickly around a modern gaming setup. A Switch 2, a phone, a headset, maybe a controller or two — all of them want power, and most rooms don’t have enough sockets. The TESSAN Plug Extension Socket with 3 USB is designed to solve that in the simplest possible way. It plugs into a single wall outlet and turns it into a compact six‑port hub, with three UK sockets and three USB ports (two USB‑A and one USB‑C) arranged neatly on the front.

Design & Build Quality

The layout is clean and practical. All three UK sockets are front‑facing, spaced widely enough to accommodate larger plugs without clashing. Above them sit the three USB ports, grouped together for easy access. Everything faces forward, which avoids the awkward side‑facing designs that often collide with furniture. The casing feels sturdy, with a fire‑resistant shell and a built‑in 13A fuse. Once plugged in, the unit sits firmly against the wall without wobbling, even when all sockets are in use. It occupies only one wall outlet, leaving the neighbouring socket free – a small but important detail in tight spaces.

Charging Performance

The inclusion of USB‑C is the standout feature. It’s the natural choice for charging a Switch 2 in sleep mode or topping up a modern phone, while the two USB‑A ports handle older accessories, controllers, or a headset dock. The ports auto‑detect devices and distribute current intelligently, with up to 2.4A per port and 3.1A shared across all three. The three AC sockets remain fully usable, supporting up to 3250W (13A), which is more than enough for a dock, laptop charger, monitor, or lamp. In everyday use, the adapter handles mixed loads without issue, and there’s no noticeable drop in stability when everything is connected at once.

Everyday Use & Gaming Relevance

For a compact gaming or creator setup, TESSAN‘s adapter is quietly transformative. It reduces the number of separate chargers you need, keeps more of your gear powered from a single wall outlet, and avoids the visual clutter of a long extension lead trailing across the floor. For Switch 2 players, it works especially well as a bedside or sofa‑side hub: USB‑C for the console, USB‑A for a phone or controller, and three sockets for a dock, laptop, or lamp. As a travel accessory, it’s equally useful. Hotel rooms rarely offer enough outlets, and being able to turn one socket into six usable ports makes it far easier to keep everything charged without juggling plugs.

Limitations

There are still some limits worth noting. The USB‑C port doesn’t support full Power Delivery fast charging, and the shared 3.1A output means three power‑hungry devices will charge more slowly when used together. It also isn’t a surge‑protected extension solution, so it’s not a substitute for a full, protected power strip in a more complex setup.

Cubed3 Summary

The TESSAN Plug Extension Socket with 3 USB is a compact, genuinely useful upgrade for anyone trying to keep a small gaming or travel setup under control. It offers a sensible mix of three UK sockets and three USB ports, adds USB‑C without overcomplicating things, and makes much better use of a single wall outlet than a standard adapter. It’s not built for high‑speed charging or heavy‑duty equipment, but as a neat, everyday hub for Switch 2 players and travellers, it earns its place.
