Ugreen has a lot of renowned products, but is mostly known for their reliable battery chargers and USB docks; however, it does have a rather diverse catalogue. Network-assisted storage (NAS) is essential for media-heavy households, and Ugreen offers a range. In this particular review, the focus is on the NASync DH2300, the smaller offering, with up to 60TB capacity and a small form factor.
It’s a very smart device, and the box itself, although fairly simple, is packed with goodies. The NAS is bundled in neatly, sandwiched between some padding and a box that holds an Ethernet cable, a power cable and plug, instruction manuals and screws for attaching HDDs (Hard Disk Drives) to the frames inside the main device. It’s a please, complete package. The device instructions also lay out how to access the Ugreen NAS app for managing it from a phone, which proves to be very convenient.

The device is a great size; it has a nice smooth design and is short enough to put comfortably on a shelf or inside an Ikea Kallax square. The two-tone design looks sleek, and the low-key buttons and inputs are visually appealing. It will have to be near a router or LAN switch so it can be wired into a home network, and this is a key consideration when purchasing. Naturally, it also doesn’t come with any HDDs, so the buyer will have to provide some standard drives or buy the extra SSD tray to fit their smaller form factor.
Actually deploying the HDDs into the device is really easy; the trays are held in by tension clips that can be undone by hand. The drives screw into these trays directly, and then clipping the tray back in automatically lines the HDD up with the connectors in the base. It’s a great design and very beginner-friendly. Just be sure to format the drives right before installing them!

Turning the device on emits a loud beep, but it doesn’t take much time to appear on the network. Connecting via PC or via the app are both simple enough, with the app having a simple-to-use interface. This NAS can also directly connect to a TV or screen with the HDMI port on the back or via USB, and so on. It’s surprisingly flexible. All-in-all, Ugreen’s NASync DH2300 proves to be a great device that punches well above its price range.
