Loewe We. HEAR 1 Bluetooth Speaker (Aqua Blue) Review

by Adam Riley 1 April 2026 0

Loewe’s We. HEAR 1 is a compact Bluetooth speaker designed to bring the company’s premium design language into a more accessible and portable form, and is an early entry in the We. series of visual and audio solutions that the German outfit has on offer. It aims to balance style, durability and everyday practicality with a focus on clear, confident sound in a small footprint. With a 40 watt output, long battery life and IPX6 water resistance, it is built for both indoor and outdoor listening and positions itself as a refined alternative to the typical portable speaker.

Design and Build

Loewe’s We. HEAR 1 is a compact Bluetooth speaker that leans heavily into the company’s design heritage. There is only a Coral Red and Storm Grey finish available now, but the original review unit was Aqua Blue that gives it a modern, understated look and the fabric wrapped body feels premium without being delicate. The rubberised base keeps the speaker stable on a desk or table and the integrated carry strap makes it easy to move around the home or take outdoors. At 740g, it has enough weight to feel solid while still being light enough to carry comfortably. The cylindrical shape supports its 360-degree sound design and the overall build quality reflects the brand’s focus on durability and clean industrial styling.

Connectivity and Features

The We. HEAR 1 uses Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless playback and offers a stable connection with quick pairing. The USB-C port handles charging and the internal battery provides up to fourteen hours of use depending on volume. The IPX6 water resistance rating protects the speaker from splashes and rain, which makes it suitable for outdoor listening or use in kitchens and bathrooms. The top mounted physical buttons control playback, volume and pairing and the speaker supports a wide frequency range from 85Hz to 20kHz. The dual full range drivers and passive radiators deliver a combined output of 40 watts, which is impressive for a speaker of this size, and is certainly not a false promise, like other more recent speakers Cubed3 has covered.

Setup and Usability

The We. HEAR 1 is straightforward to set up. Pairing over Bluetooth takes only a moment and the speaker remembers previously connected devices, making it easy to switch between a phone, tablet, or laptop. The physical buttons are responsive and clearly marked, helping out when adjusting playback without reaching for a device. The compact size and carry strap make it convenient to move between rooms and the IPX6 rating adds confidence when using it outdoors or near water. Charging through USB-C keeps the process simple and the battery life is long enough to cover a full day of casual listening.

Performance

The We. HEAR 1 delivers a surprisingly full sound for its size. The dual drivers and passive radiators create a balanced presentation with clear mids and highs and enough bass presence to give music a sense of weight without overwhelming the rest of the mix. Vocals remain well defined and the speaker handles a wide range of genres comfortably. The 360-degree sound dispersion helps maintain consistency when moving around a room and the overall output is strong enough to fill small to medium spaces. It should definitely be highlighted that the clarity and punch of the speaker is highly impressive, showing off its 40 watt rating and efficient driver design very nicely indeed.

Value

The We. HEAR 1 sits in the mid-range of portable Bluetooth speakers and its combination of build quality, sound performance, and design makes it competitive at its price. The IPX6 rating, long battery life and strong output give it versatility for both indoor and outdoor use and the premium materials help it stand out from more generic alternatives. For users who value design and dependable everyday performance the We. HEAR 1 offers a well balanced package that feels considered and durable.
