Majority Pulse 2 Portable Bluetooth Party Speaker Review

by Adam Riley 23 March 2026 0

The Majority Pulse 2 Party Speaker arrives as an all‑in‑one entertainment unit designed for casual gatherings, family events and small indoor spaces. Its tall, lightweight frame, broad connectivity and built‑in lighting aim to deliver a party‑ready experience without the cost associated with larger, more powerful systems. The feature list is extensive for the price, although several real‑world limitations quickly become apparent once the speaker is put through its paces.

Design and Build

The Pulse 2 follows the familiar tall‑tower format, standing at 55.5cm with a lightweight 4.6kg frame that keeps it portable despite its size. A built‑in carry handle makes it easy to move between rooms or transport to small gatherings. The front grille houses dual 6.5‑inch drivers and a 1.5‑inch tweeter, surrounded by two LED rings that form the visual centrepiece of the design. The plastic chassis is functional rather than premium, although the overall build remains acceptable for the price point.

Connectivity and Features

Connectivity is broad, with Bluetooth 5.4 providing stable wireless playback and minimal latency for general media use. USB, SD and AUX inputs expand compatibility with offline sources, although the SD slot is limited to FAT32 formatting, restricting card capacity and file support. TWS pairing allows two Pulse 2 units to operate as a stereo set, and the included wired microphone plugs directly into the rear panel with dedicated volume and echo controls. The LED lighting system is bold and colourful, cycling through neon‑style hues that suit darker rooms and casual parties. The implementation is less flexible than expected, as the white strobe effect is permanently tied to the lighting modes. The only way to disable the flashing white light is to turn off all lighting entirely, which limits the usefulness of the colour effects and reduces the appeal of the visual design.

Sound Quality

The Pulse 2 is marketed as a 120W system, although real‑world loudness falls short of expectations. The speaker produces clear mids and acceptable treble, with a Bass Boost mode that adds warmth without delivering significant depth or impact. Indoors, the output is suitable for small to medium rooms, but the speaker does not outperform the Soundcore Motion Boom Plus, Motion X600 or even the Motion Boom predecessor, and often feels closer in power to the smaller Motion+ or even Soundcore Pro+. Offerings like the Acton III from Marshall just put it to shame if you’re looking for premium quality performance. Higher volumes introduce compression, reducing clarity in dense tracks and limiting the speaker’s ability to fill larger spaces.

Microphone Performance

The included wired microphone adds value on paper, yet performance is limited. Voice clarity is soft and lacks definition, and the microphone input uses a voice‑activation gate that opens only when it detects speech. This causes slight delays and clips the beginning of words, which becomes noticeable during announcements or karaoke attempts. Echo and volume adjustments offer some flexibility, yet the overall experience remains below what most would expect from a dedicated party speaker, plus changing the settings actually isn’t that smooth either.

Everyday Use and Battery Life

Battery life reaches up to eight hours depending on volume and lighting usage, and the speaker can run from mains power for longer sessions. The lightweight build makes it easy to reposition, although the construction feels less robust than heavier party speakers. The control layout is straightforward, with physical buttons for playback, lighting and mode switching, and the speaker responds quickly to input changes, yet some menu functions aren’t always the easiest to reach due to button holds and then reacting quickly to change settings being required before it defaults back out to the main setting.

Cubed3 Summary

The Majority Pulse 2 Party Speaker delivers a wide feature set at a competitive price, offering colourful lighting, broad connectivity and simple controls in a lightweight tower design. Its limitations become clear in real‑world use, particularly in microphone performance, lighting flexibility and overall loudness, which falls short of the expectations set by its size and advertised wattage. It remains a capable option for casual parties, family gatherings and small indoor spaces, although users seeking stronger audio output or more refined karaoke features may find it underpowered.
