SoundPEATS Cove Pro Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling Foldable Headphones

SoundPEATS Cove Pro Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling Foldable Headphones Review

by Adam Riley 16 June 2026 0

SoundPEATS has been steadily expanding its line‑up of audio products over the past few years, covering everything from over‑ear headphones to open‑ear clip‑ons and traditional earbuds. The company has shown a clear willingness to refine its approach with each new release, taking on feedback and gradually shaping hardware that can stand alongside the likes of Anker’s Soundcore range, such as a impressive Space One. After spending time with the Clip1 and the Air6 HS, Cubed3 now turns to the Cove Pro, an over‑ear model positioned as one of the brand’s most complete offerings to date, to see whether it meets the expectations set by its recent successes.

Design and Comfort

The Cove Pro has a clean, understated look that suits its purpose. The matte finish avoids unnecessary flash, the frame folds neatly without feeling fragile, and the stainless‑steel slider moves with a steady, confident motion. Once on the head, the headphones settle in without fuss. The cushions are soft enough to fade into the background, and the clamping force is tuned to avoid the slow build‑up of pressure that often appears during longer sessions. They are easy to wear for hours at a time, which is exactly what you want from a pair designed for everyday use.

Noise Cancelling and Transparency

SoundPEATS’ hybrid ANC system uses seven microphones to shape the environment around you, and the results are stronger than the price might suggest. Low‑frequency rumble softens into a gentle background presence, while mid‑range chatter loses its edge without introducing the hollow sensation that sometimes accompanies budget ANC. The app’s profiles are genuinely useful rather than decorative; the library mode tightens the noise floor, while the café setting handles shifting background noise with a steady hand. Transparency mode keeps voices natural and avoids the brittle, over‑processed tone that cheaper implementations often fall into.

Sound Quality and LDAC Performance

The audio performance is where the Cove Pro steps forward. Hi‑Res Audio and Hi‑Res Audio Wireless certification aren’t just badges here. LDAC gives the headphones the bandwidth they need to stretch out. At up to 990kbps, the codec opens the door to a level of clarity and separation that feels comfortably above the usual mid‑range wireless experience. There’s more space around instruments, a wider dynamic range, and a subtlety in low‑level detail that simply doesn’t appear on SBC or AAC.

The 40mm driver is the backbone of this. Its titanium‑coated diaphragm brings a welcome balance of rigidity and lightness, avoiding the metallic sheen that can creep into cheaper titanium designs. Mids are clean and articulate, treble has enough lift to reveal detail without drifting into sharpness, and the N48 magnet gives the bass a sense of depth and control that anchors the entire presentation. It’s a tuning that feels measured rather than showy, and it holds up across genres.

Spatial audio adds a layer of immersion that works particularly well for films and games. It doesn’t try to mimic full head‑tracking systems; instead, it creates a sense of direction and distance that pairs neatly with the quiet isolation of ANC. It’s a subtle enhancement, but a welcome one. USB‑C digital audio also provides a clean, latency‑free connection when needed, although owners will need to supply their own data‑capable cable.

Battery Life and Connectivity

Battery life remains one of the Cove Pro’s standout strengths. With ANC off, they approach the claimed ninety‑five hours, and even with ANC and LDAC active they comfortably stretch across several days of mixed use. Quick‑charge support is genuinely useful: 10 minutes on the cable yields around 11 hours of playback. Connectivity is more flexible than most mid‑range models. While the included USB‑C cable is charging‑only, the headphones support USB‑C digital audio when used with a proper data‑capable cable. This gives the Cove Pro a genuine wired mode for latency‑sensitive use, flights, or situations where Bluetooth isn’t ideal. Multipoint pairing works reliably, and Bluetooth 6.0 remains stable in busy environments.

App Features and Everyday Use

The SOUNDPEATS app keeps things simple. EQ pre-sets, a custom EQ, ANC controls, low‑latency gaming mode and a “Find My Headphone” function round out the experience without clutter. The headphones respond quickly to button inputs, and the overall user experience is smooth and predictable. They fold neatly for travel, although the absence of a protective case feels like a missed opportunity.

Cubed3 Summary

The Cove Pro marks one of SoundPEATS’ strongest entries to date. The combination of steady ANC, a balanced and genuinely enjoyable sound profile, LDAC support and excellent long‑session comfort gives these headphones a level of polish that stands out in the mid‑range. Battery life is exceptional, and the addition of USB‑C wired audio - even though it requires a proper data‑capable cable - adds welcome flexibility for gaming, travel and latency‑sensitive use. A bundled case would have rounded things off, but the overall package is far more compelling than the price suggests. SoundPEATS has been building towards a release like this, and the Cove Pro shows just how far the company has come.
