Yeah, I really should have got it a long time ago. I just didn't like the idea of someone other than Phoenix, especially after how fantastic Trials and Tribulations was.

I know what you mean, I used to think the same thing, but Phoenix is hardly a minor character in AJ, and after finishing it I just want to see more of Apollo.

So really I think they've done the "new generation Ace Attorney" very well, almost to a point where I can't say I'd be happy if they made a new game about Phoenix instead of Apollo.

Sort of agree. It'd be nice to have dual prominence of the characters...as long as Phoenix is around in some decent capacity, though, I don't mind too much.

I'm still dying to know everything that happened between AA3 and AA4. Hopefully Ace Attorney Investigations plugs a couple of the smaller gaps until the next main title!

Oh man I just recently discovered how awesome the this series is, I've only played the first but it's such an amazing game. I've been solving cases, questioning random people. I love that bling guy who flashes his sparkly rings at you.

I've lost countless hours on this game and I'd be glad to waste more on the rest in the series.

Redd White, I would rather like to quite hit him Smilie

Still I love all the characters in PW.

Redd White is possibly my most despised character in the series.
Because he killed Mia Smilie

Awesome that you're getting into the series Simez Smilie the more fans the better.

He killed Mia? Smilie

Only joking I completed it last week. I love the whole cast as well. Also loved how their names were parodies of something or just straight up ironic, who's name would be Redd White? Smilie

That last lawyer was a pain though he had the judge in his pocket.. deep voice OBJECTION!!! If this game took itself seriously I don't think I would liked it at all.

@ SL
Yep I'm all in, very satisfying, I got my mum and little sister into it now. Amazing.

And they don't stop either. Here are some of my favourite examples:

April May
Lotta Hart
Olga Orly (ORLY!?)
Sal Manella
Will Powers
Luke Atmey
And Godot's name is very clever in many ways too.

Possibly Phoenix Wright for TvC Smilie

Haha Phoenix you should give em any ideas there already making Capcom vs. Fisher Price

@ SL
I totally forgot Sal Manella that was a cool name.

Amagad.
So which of you bozos bought Gyakuten Kenji Ace Attorney Investigations? It's out everywhere now so I really recommend picking it up for those who are into the series... I played the first two chapters two days ago, and I'm now starting the third. It's pretty awesome so far, the logic and deduction systems are really cool, but it's yet to capture any tension the other games had, due to the lack of court procedures...

Don't leave me hangin'. I can't be C3's only AAI player.

Just noticed the first Apollo Justice reference! I honestly wasn't expecting any.

I finished case two yesterday. I've given it a break today. It's really good so far. Smilie Pacing seems better than AA4. Not quite as tense because you don't have those court restrictions placed on you, as you say, but I'm sure it's going to continue to build up suspense in its own way. Edgeworth is a great main character.

First case (first minute, actually) spoiler:

I wouldn't mind seeing AA5 take the third person approach...

Ooo heck, there's an official thread eh, awesome.

Needed to ask somewhere, I really want to get into the Ace Attorney series, but I can't find the first DS game for a decent price, so am considering the WiiWare version; except I'm fully aware from all the reviews what a lazy port it is, so would a GBA version blown up to a TV screen do the series justice?

Is it like in the other games where there is a murder and you have to go around the crime scenes, like in the other games in the series?

Right now I'm not sure of this as the timeline of the game is really all over the place.

Same, but at the same time I think Capcom would be better off trying to find some individuality for each series.

I doubt it, not to mention the Wiiware version doesn't contain Case 1-5, which was built for the DS (and is being released seperately in a few months). I personally would really try for the DS version, it's not horrifically expensive online, but it might take some searching.

It plays very similarly to the other games, except all the gameplay takes place in the initial police and prosecutor investigations BEFORE the court case, so unfortunately you never get to go to court.

I've just started Case 4, Case 3 was much better than the second but some of the characters seemed kinda pointless to me.

No biggy, it's literally right at the beginning of Case 1-2.
Now if someone told me that Darth Vader was Luke Skywalker's father, I would be pretty pissed. Of course that's not true. Right guys?

I'll get Edgy's game later. Right now I need to get Justice for All, which I'm hoping will be on Wiiware without much taken away...I hope...

It requires great courage to look at oneself honestly, and forge one's own path.

Heh, don't worry about it, it's my fault for not having played it before now. :p Smilie

Yes, make haste!!

In the meantime I've just started working my way through the 5th case. Things start getting very interesting towards the end of the 4th case. I'll post more thoughts when I finish it, it's not like I'll have anyone to talk about it with anyway.... Smilie

I don't think I'm going to find this game very believable until they reference it in a main series game. I know it is, but it just doesn't really feel canon, or that important.

This is probably a silly question but did you rent it? (I haven't seen a Blockbusters for years so I don't know if you can buy stuff in there or just rent stuff)

I don't have it, so I don't know, but that's how that game feels to me. Like its not "the real thing" so to speak.

I'll still get it though. Just need to finish Apollo Justice first. Smilie
