A full Nintendo x Capcom game, should it happen, would have to be either developed by Nintendo themselves or highly supervised by them, as I doubt they'd let a third party develop a game where their characters would take central stage while not being highly accessible for the casual players. And Street Fighter is nowhere near as accessible as Super Smash Bros for me. One shouldn't mistake depth of gameplay and accessibility, and Super Smash Bros has both.

I know we had Link in Soulcalibur 2, and soon Ridley and Samus in DoAD, but those were just one or two character as opposed to a full cast of those.

Nintendo Network ID: LKR000               PSN: LKR000
3DS: 1246-8696-120                              GT: LKR101

If I would like to see Nintendo x Capcom? HELL YES! Smilie

That would be awesome in theory, but not sure how it would work given both Capcom (Street Fighter, VS series) and Nintendo (Smash Bros) are from two different fighting systems.

Would like a new Smash Bros with Capcom characters though, but would be weird seeing how they pull of Street Fighter folk with Smash-style moves/control - that or a Tasunuko styled Nintendo vs Capcom game Smilie

Well, Link worked fine in Soul Calibur 2 though he was the only character in the game with ranged attacks which made him completely imbalanced. Smilie

I could see both types happening, Capcom characters in a Super Smash Bros. like game or Nintendo characters in a Street Fighter like game.

Now that we're talking about this, where is my Smash Bros. for the 3DS, Nintendo? Smilie

That's asking a lot don't you think, but I'm totally for those ideas. Smilie

If this were to ever happen, I'd prefer them to make the game on Vs. engine. Damn near every character they put on that engine come out looking sick. The Nintendo characters would be amazing in a Vs. game! Oh please, oh please, OH PLEASE!!!

@jb: Well, they're doing a Tekken X CAPCOM and CAPCOM X Tekken, each in the style of the corresponding franchise so it's not as crazy as it sounds. Do one with Smash Bros style and another with Street Fighter in mind and it should be an interesting way of parting with our money.

Make lesser known Nintendo characters into strikers in a Nintendo vs Capcom game Smilie. I could see Kyle Hyde, Jeff from Earthbound, Captain Rainbow/Nick, Doc Louis, Tarin & Marin... the possibilities are nearly endless ^^.

We already have Super Smash Bros, which is good by itself. I'd prefer seeing Capcom use the Vs. engine if there was a crossover, since the Wii doesn't see too many of those types of fighting games.

When I asked the question, I *had* actually meant a Nintendo x Capcom game in a Street Fighter / Vs. style, but had to word the question slightly differently since we were meant to only ask questions directly related to the game's being talked about Smilie

2.5D side-on battler with Capcom and Nintendo characters would be awesome Smilie

You realize that isn't possible, right?

Anyway, this would be an interesting experience. At the very least, let it be a foot in the door toward putting Leon Kennedy in the next Super Smash Bros. Smilie

no thanks

I can't say I trust Sakurai anymore after his blunder with Brawl, but Capcom wouldn't make it too casual. It could be interesting.

Cube (guest) 21.01.2011#17

As long as Sakurai's not involved.

So now Ryu can fight Mario?... maybe we'll see Ken fight Marth Smilie

LC-DDM (guest) 21.01.2011#19

I know at least a couple of obvious choices for the fighting department -- Little Mac & Sukapon.

Though we could always go with Captain Falcon (!) and Sheik as well.

bearmon2010 (guest) 21.01.2011#20

Not interesting but thanks for reconsidering it. No thanks.

I see where you're coming from with that argument-- but you're overlooking quite a bit. Nintendo has done entire cast crossovers at well. You seem to be forgetting Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, for one thing (which was Sega-developed, BTW). The the Mario cast was also featured in an EA basketball game back on GameCube. Right there, that's two separate games that were third-party-developed featuring a whole cast of some Nintendo's best known characters. Nintendo definitely would allow it under the right circumstances.

Really Cubed3.....do you even need to ask if we would want such a perfect game?

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

It honestly could end up being the most amazing game ever guys. If Sakurai just TRIES as hard on this one as he did on melee, plus capcom's help, it would make for an amazing game!

I think that Sakurai would do a GREAT job with this, if and ONLY if, he works on it as hard as he worked on melee. With that in mind, Sakurai and Ono would be able to do an excelent game, in my opinion.

Anon (guest) 22.01.2011#25

I can see it now:

Mario/Ryu vs. Bowser/Sagat
Zelda/Chunli vs. Ganondorf/Bison
Ike/Zero vs. Black Knight/Sigma
Kirby/Megaman vs. Dedede/Wily

Seriously, has Ono been reading my fanfiction?
