So does that confirm that you can actually use 'old' Wiimotes for simple games like Mario Chase, Luigi's GHost Mansion and even NSMBU??

I have 4 Wiimotes, of which only 2 are WM+.

Haven't played NSMBU so I won't speak to that, but for the others, yes. In Nintendo Land, any games that use the Wii Remote held sideways work fine with any remote. All of the ones that use motion require MotionPlus (the Metroid ones and the Zelda ones as well, apologies if there are others I'm forgetting, but those are the only two that come to mind).

I guess it's time for me to invest in a second motionplus controller. Also, I will say that Nintendo Land motionplus causes me far, far fewer migraines than Skyward Sword did.

Hi guys, hope your all doing good, long time no see! Basically I have my Zombie U pack ordered and Nintendo land to go with it (to keep the kiddies happy) but I want to get one last game for myself. I'm assuming Zombie U is not Zap-to-Pad compatible and that's really the main pull of the console for me - so what game looks best for playing standalone on the Wii U pad? Would like a gamers game, so when the missus puts on soaps I can just blast away on a game. Cheers, 'tendo.

Oh damn!! I never expected to see you post again out of nowhere! Smilie It's great to see you!

I'm pretty sure Mario Bros, Assassin's Creed and Sonic Racing can be played on the Gamepad, but I'm not actually sure what games can besides that. I really hope Tekken can too.

Someone needs to make a list tbh Smilie I think the grand majority of games will be made to play on the Gamepad but there are exceptions.

Really depends on what you'd like and if you already own some third party games on other platforms. If you like Mario games, you can't really go wrong with New Super Mario Bros. U for convenient off-screen play.

This list here might be missing a game or two and not all games are available yet but it's the best one I found so far.

Got to keep you on your toes SuperLink, good to see you again Mr Mod Smilie Had a quick scan through the C3 launch and recommended list but it's always good to garner gamers opinion.

Indeedy cheers for the list there SirLink, essentially out of the gamers loop for a while so the major third party games are all fresh meat for me. That's what I'm looking at really: Mass Effect, Black Ops or Assassins Creed, if they are all U-Pad compatible.

Go on then, what's best out of the three Smilie

Depends on what you like and whether you've played ME1&2? ME3 is apparently a great game, but it builds a lot on the previous entries. The interactive comic on the Wii U doesn't do those games justice.

I would say Black Ops 2, as with Mass Effect 3, you're only getting the 3rd game which could be a problem, since other platforms are getting a Mass Effect Trilogy.

As for Assassin's Creed 3, I reckon that will be brilliant too, but I haven't played it, so yeah don't take my word for it.

Completely eclectic taste with games, but in this case I want a proper hardcore game I can zap from the machine to the pad while the missus watches Corrie. Missed the last five years + of gaming really so Mass Effect, CoD, Assassins..it's all new blood. Want a good game to get stuck into when the TV is busy.

Has anybody heard back from Expansys yet? This launch has crept up on me and i want it now! I'm tempted to just get it from GAME or a reputable retailer at least...

I called up Expansys but the staff don't seem to know much about it...got a spanish lady who could barely speak English...i feel like i am about to be mugged!

Ooer, I actually cancelled my order from them way back so I'm afraid I can't help you there Smilie I hope it goes smoothly.

I cancelled my Expansys order, I felt like I should just keep my Zavvi one, since they're a retailer I've used before and I know they're reliable.

Well i've preordered Tekken from Zavvi, if i get that and no Wii U then i'll be a bit dissapointed.

£300-£310 seems to be the rough going price for a Deluxe with Nintendo Land. I might just pick it up later in the week, i think i might call Expansys back on Monday and see if i get any better luck. Doubt i will though...

I ordered 2 games from Zavvi. One is a Wii game which they shipped the same day... that was 10 days ago and I still haven't received it.

I'm afraid it will take some weeks before I can play NSMBU. Smilie

First I've heard about this. She must of been incredibly unlucky or something. Ubisoft will patch it, more than likely. Smilie

No Plans for Miiverse in MH Ultimate...

This means that there won't be direct Miiverse support integrated into the game, such as Nintendo Land or NSMBU.

However, since this game is most likely going to be published by Nintendo in Europe and Australia, they could easily make a Miiverse Community dedicated for the game. This is something that doesn't require much effort, and they would be stupid not to do so.

As for in-game Miiverse support, it's a shame, but not a dealbreaker. It's something that can be patched into the game later, just like it was in Nintendo Land, I believe.

Looks like the Wii U Mass Effect 3 comes out okay here. Definitely worth a look for those of you who haven't played 3 yet.

Someone's been busy these last few years. Smilie

Good to see you back man!

Yeah, a ME3 version that's better than the PS3's sounds good enough for a launch game.

Speaking of which... the graphical performances of the PS3 and 360 keep amazing me. In general, 360 games look/run better.
The PS3 launched a year later, with a lot of hype about the Emotion Engine. Oh wait that was PS2... PS3 had the uhm... Cell! It was so high tech, it was built to last 10 years.
And now the 360 is 7 years old and is outperforming the PS3. Smilie

I think it depends on which system a console is built on, the PS3 is definitely harder to develop for and there's a history of porting issues with it, but I think games built on PS3 or with PS3 in mind can outperform 360 too.

Of course it may all be opinions.

I think the next wave of 3rd party games will see the Wii U be the more supreme version. Looking at Tekken that already seems to be the case. I hope that games like Metal Gear Solid 5 will be released (and surely most likely) on the Wii U and that being the better version!

Maybe even next years Fifa and COD's series' will be the far superior as well.

If Nintendo can nail that they might sway some people to buy the Wii U. Even if this was the case its still a big ask to convince PS/MS gamers to jump ship!

Flynnie said:Metal Gear Solid 5

I thought the series was ending with 4?

Never followed the series too closely, but putting it on Wii U makes sense. The discs hold the same as the PS3 discs, and Brawl showed us how much the Metal Gear team loves Nintendo.

MGS: Ground Zeroes is the next one, and will serve as a prologue to MGS5.

Does anybody know if you can use the wii classic controllor on wii u games like black ops? Thanks

Flapper!
