When is that update out and how does it work? Do we all have to be in the same lobby in real time to complete it? That would probably limit who can take part.

We can consider all sorts of options, but people don't have to take part in another one if they don't want to. If they would rather wait for the game's update tourney thing, they can do, and others can still do this style until then, if there's enough people that want to. I'm happy to do this again, it's been fun, even though it's taken longer than I expected, and I didn't win a single match loool.

I would still obviously try the game's tourney mode, but if we can squeeze another of our own style in before then, I would be good with that.

There are plenty of tourney types to try using Challonge, too. Like, you can have groups of certain numbers of people, like a football World Cup style tourney, with the top two of each group progressing to a knockout stage. Or you can have a league format, with everyone playing each other twice/once, with points added to determine your position. In fact, that could be like an on-going season thing, like a real football season. Could be something to do on the side, whilst we have other tourneys happening at the same time...like real football haha. Then there are the usual single/double elimination tourneys, where we could indeed split them up into US/EU, or just do as we have done here.

Plenty of time to think what people want to do. The league idea interests me because it can be an on-going thing that lasts months, whilst we do other tourneys at the same time.

I love the idea of an on-going Cubed3 Smash league. Would definitely be up for that, though it would be nice to have replay-sharing first because I have no way to record mine.

Yeah, I think the league thing sounds great and doesn't put pressure on people to get matches done and such.

If I were to think how to do it, I think playing each other twice in one big league would be best. But you should first make sure you cycle through all other opponents before you do your second match against people, if that makes sense. Like the home/away fixtures in football (it's much easier for me to explain and think how they work using football lol) - every team plays each team once, then they go again. Only thing that concerns me personally is if Shanker takes part and we can't play each other...

I'll have to mess around in Challonge, but should be really simple. 3 points for a win and such. Don't think you can get ties in Smash Bros stock matches? So probably just end up being 3 pts for a win. Could do 1 pt for a loss if people want, or just leave as zero.

Soooo....has the tournament come to a halt now? Bc i know someone left, how is that gonna get fixed?

Insanoflex hasn't played any matches so it doesn't affect anything. Whoever wins between Sandy and Sue will jump straight to playing Andre.

I believe Shanker's messaged you, so your match is on track.

Just gotta wait for Sandy and Sue to play too.

Oh nice, but im playing sdragon64 next. I pm him already so our match should happen sometime tonight

Yeah, that's Shanker Smilie

Sorry, I use people's real names sometimes, which probably confuses people lol.

Actually, our match is gonna happen right now as we speak!

I won against sdragon64, 2-0. Fun matches i must say Smilie

Tbh I don't know how it works or when it actually releases. XD If everyone does have to be online at the same time then I don't see that mode having much of a future here. Your league idea sounds decent though.

Oh no, it's gonna be a while before i get to face anyone else Smilie

I've been messing around in Challonge, and managed to come up with a mock league that looks like it would work well.

http://challonge.com/c3leaguee/standings

Bear in mind it's about halfway through, with completely randomised results, so pay no mind to the positions of people. I've just entered the names I've used in the previous tourney, just to fill it up and test it out.

Edit: Randomised all matches in there now, to see how it looked in the end.

How it works:

We could start this whenever, but could wait till this current tourney is over first. We can indeed run other tourneys like this double elimination one in conjunction, since it could take a while. I imagine we'll have less than 20 people, but if there was 20, that's 19 matches for everyone to organise and play at some point. Could certainly take some time, but would be quite cool to have running through the year.

We'd have to make sure that the people that sign up give serious thought into whether they can take part, and that it won't be hard to contact them and organise matches. I think if you don't come onto Cubed3 often then there's no point in you taking part. We can give a lot of warning for sign-ups and I can PM people well in advance, but since it would be a long-running thing, don't want people that have no time or major interest to just sign up for the heck of it. It's supposed to be for fun, but don't sign up if you don't plan to take part and do all your matches. That sounds fair to me.

Any other ideas for this are welcome. But I think the example league above at the link should show it should work well enough, and you can complete your matches with any opponent in any order in your own time.

The difference between illusion and reality is vague to the one who suffers from the former and questionable for the one suffering form the later.

Um... The first I think. I'll check the replays tomorrow.
