On the hardware front, this week the list is as follows:

1.) PlayStation Portable - 61,181
2.) Nintendo DS - 57,398
3.) Wii - 41,109
4.) PlayStation 3 - 9,508
5.) PlayStation 2 - 9,045
6.) Xbox 360 - 5,359

In terms of first day sales, the DS remake of the original NES Fire Emblem has sold 80,000 units, whilst Tales of Vesperia on Xbox 360 sold 70,000 and 10,000 special hardware bundles. Compared to the three GBA Fire Emblems, this DS game has started very well, since The Sealed Sword sold 126,267 in its entire first week, Blazing Sword did 109,429 and The Sacred Stones accrued 146,026 sales. Therefore, Fire Emblem DS with its strong start should hopefully be able to at least match The Sealed Swords's 120,000+ sales.

DS need a ARPG that online lol

Very, very pleased to see a strong start for Fatal Frame IV. And also, as predicted by my SUPERIOR MOTHER BRAIN, Vesperia has failed to match Symphonia 2\'s first week sales. Bring on the next mothership title exclusively on Wii!

I'm pretty sure phantasy star portable doesn't even have online lol...A sucky MMO with no online = even suckier....

Good to see Wario doing alright.

Phantasy Star Portable is just a PSP port of the underwhelming Phantasy Star Universe from PS2...a game that didn't sell very well on that format, but is selling gangbusters on PSP because SEGA's marketing it as the new Monster Hunter-style affair!

Apparently portable gaming is THE big thing in japan because of travelling to work and stuff. I think the market for the DS may be starting to become saturated, but then, the sales are picking up again. DQIX should be interesting when it's out.

When are they releasing that? it seems odd that they wait so long that the DS isnt at the peak of its popularity when they release it

Releasing it when over 20 million people already have a DS and the DS isn't totally out of stock is pretty good timing in my opinion. Smilie
