Dragon Quest Swords 2 for Wii Uncovered? on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The latest batch of Japanese trademarks have surfaced, showing what some believe could well be a Dragon Quest Swords sequel. Lurking at the bottom of the list, just under another Square Enix trademark for Pop-Up Duels (an element h.a.n.d. introduced into the Chocobo games found on DS and Wii), is what roughly translates as The Daughter of Light and Darkness, and the Tower of the World Conquest. Considering the original pointer-led RPG from last year, which is incidentally still the best-selling Third Party Wii game in Japan, was called The Masked Queen And The Tower Of Mirrors, some believe the new trademark could well be a sequel. However, this is still pure speculation and it could just as easily be the subtitle for Dragon Quest X on Wii, or another unannounced DQ.

waitwhat?

Aki-T spilt the water.

Well, at least we saw the blue slime's smile ones again...

Tao, Linkyshinks' Red Riding Hood is old enough to see, that Square Enix delivers games with the same mechanics every time. He went for that one. New graphics in old games, you see.
I don't mind, thou. But S-E's success may wear thin after a while...

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

could be DQ X...

N/A

As long as the games are quality and they keep up with spin offs like this I still like S-E's stuff.

I mean come on, spin offs are the only way their market will evolve, they're never going to stop making mainseries FF and DQ games which lots of people still enjoy. The term spin-off is really often seen as a negative thing, but for S-E the more spin offs they make the more chances they have of making something with great original gameplay.

Maybe if Square take the Wii more seriously now, we'll get a big improvement over the first DQS.
