Zelda: Majora

Link's second adventure on the N64 and a whole bunch of DSiWare games have arrived in Nintendo's online shop in Europe.

As reported before, it was set for Virtual Console, and this week the Nintendo Download update includes the much loved Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask for 1000 points. The game features unique time-travelling system and finally got the Hylian hero out of Hyrule on the home console adventures.

To celebrate the launch of the DSi in Europe this week you can grab hold of various downloadable games to play on the move, including:

  • Art Style: AQUITE - 500 Nintendo points
  • Art Style: CODE - 500 Nintendo points
  • Birds & Beans (Pyoro) - 200 Nintendo points
  • Paper Plane - 200 Nintendo points
  • WarioWare Snapped! - 500 Nintendo points
  • Opera DSi browser - Free
  • Thanks to NintendoLife.

Will you be nabbing a slice of Zelda action this week? Or does the DSiWare line-up take your fancy?

I\'m happy. I will get both today.

Can you give any confirmation about the free 1000 Nintendo Points that are redeemable with the DSi at launch?. Adam mentioned it in his article the other day.

Form what I can make out, the US is not following suit, or are they?

idk if to get it may do just so i dont have to put up with the saving as you go back on the GC one

The GC version was glitchy, not just in respect to the save-load glitch, but in the graphics also. The framerate was also a bit pants for some reason.

The US is, from comments on various retailer websites. Nintendo Europe's Press Release also specifically stated the free 1,000 Points. However, I believe it will only be a short-term offer.

I would love to confirm, but my DSi simply won't update right now. I think perhaps Nintendo is having server issues...It needs to do a system update before opening the shop for the first time and it either disconnected straight away or only got to around the half-way mark before dropping.

I'll try again when I get home from work...

Will be tempted to get a DSi, but don't have nearly enough money. I will however get Majora's Mask; I hope the emulation is top notch this time!

Thanks Adam. By the time you do I will have mine though. I'm just about to go out and get mine.

Sounds good but I already have majoras mask on the collectors edition so I'll pass XD
DSI is sounding better and better by the minute, really tempted to by one.

Don't tell me you haven't noticed the awful crashes and glitches D: If it wasn't for those I'd be perfectly content with the Collector's Edition, but I haven't had a good Majora's Mask experience since the N64 days.

I still have MM on the N64.

Don't forget to tell us whether the VC version has glitches or not!

I've only ever played MM on the Gamecube after I had already played WW and OoT and I never experienced any crashes/glitches. I just had the occasional drop in framerate.

Will get this though seeing as how it's my favourite Zelda and will save me the trouble of getting out a GC controller/GC game and Memory card. Smilie

Could be that my Collector's Edition is just faulty then. It did crash way too often for me, and the saving in that game made crashing even more of a bitch you know?

Anyway, might give it a go a bit later Smilie

I dont even think it was all the discs.
My collectors edition only had sound problems. (music cut off or was odd in places).

I had no save problems, and pretty sure no graphical glitchs.

Crashed a lot for me too. Though I won't be buying this for the VC, still have the original N64 copy aswell as the GC one, even if it is glitchy.

I want a DSi, but have no money. Smilie Fortunately I get lots of money on Monday, and I might get some money for my birthday tomorrow, so I might buy one pretty soon. Smilie

Could somebody confirm that zelda MM does not support progressive scan ? (even though i\'m pretty sure it won\'t...)

Oh and Collector\'s Edition made my GameCube crash regularly as well.

Anyone had trouble getting their DSi online? I simply get error code 034310 when trying to update for the first time... Smilie

I wish this would come out in the U.S. I loved Majora's Mask, it's probably my favorite LoZ of all time; but I'm not willing to buy Collector's edition as the pice is ridiculous (they charge as much as a new Wii game, for it) and I already have half of the games from it available anyway. I still have my N64, but after all these years, it hardly starts up.

I never had probs with my collectors edition, but i would expect some sort of graphical upgrading for the vc release

Other than looking sharper and moving more smoothly (maybe) I think it's probably the same, maybe worse than the GC version.

Keep in mind the GC version was also upgraded a little.
