Nintendo DSi Beats PSP-Go's 1st Week in Japan

The latest Media Create Top 50 software sales and hardware data has now been released, showing off a strong start for SEGA/Platinum Games' Bayonetta on PS3 and Xbox 360, a rather slow start for the latest Final Fantasy on DS, plus the continued healthy sales of Level-5's Inazuma Eleven 2, which has easily blown past the total sales of the original (~420,000 to date) and is closing in on its anticipated 800,000 sales projection. Sadly, both GTA: Chinatown Wars and Sin & Punishment 2 prove to be disappointments in their first week of release, whilst Dragon Quest IX finally breaks the four million barrier with a reported 4.2 million copies now shipped to retailers.

On the hardware front, the PSP Go was only on sale for one day of the chart tracking period and failed to be as big a hit as perhaps Sony was expecting, not even able to sell 30,000 units, being beaten by the DSi, which sold just over 37,500 units.
