Kingdom Hearts PSP Topples Mario Wii on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The latest Media Create sales have appeared, showing the new Kingdom Hearts has hit No.1. Square Enix's latest PSP release may have not started anywhere near as strong as Crisis Core: FF7 or Dissidia: Final Fantasy, but it is already within touching distance of the DS Kingdom Hearts' sales total after just its first couple of days on sale. With massive shortages of New Super Mario Bros. Wii in Japan right now, seeing the game manage to cling onto the No.2, just ahead of Friend Collection on DS, just goes to show how eager the gaming otaku are to find any copy available around the country.

Check out the data released so far (last week's positions are in brackets), including early hardware numbers that show how much of a boost the PSP received thanks to Kingdom Hearts:

To be honest, this is the first KH game I really don't care about. It just looks really dumb. But I suppose I should play before judging.

I used to not care about it but as I saw recent trailers I realised they were taking far more care of this than they did with KHDS.

Can\'t wait, it\'ll probably help me decide whether or not KHIII will be a lost cause as far as plot is concerned.
Also I\'m going to say it probably took far more effort to make than NSMBW.

I\'ve given up on a proper Kingdom Hearts 3. I think Tetsuya and co have gone too overboard with the story. What started off as a fun Disney-filled adventure with Sora, Donald and Goofy has turned into an overcomplicated mess. I\'ll still buy the PSP game once I get a PSP.

What about the DS game? At least this one resembles the first two games in terms of structure. The mission based gameplay and Organisation XIII really ruined 358/2 Days for me.

I haven\'t played the DS game. I\'m actually not very interested in Roxas, I thought his story was actually kind of boring. But I\'ll probably at least rent both that one and the PSP one.

What are they doing about Mickey Mouse? Wayne Allwine died last summer, and the last time I checked, they hadn\'t found anyone to replace him. Did he record stuff for the KH games before he died, or what?

Edit: Just looked it up, he\'s been replaced with a new voice actor. I\'ll have to look into it and see if the new guy is any good. Birth by Sleep is actually going to be his first full performance as Mickey Mouse.

Edit 2: He sounds exactly the same. Almost to the point of creepiness, lol.

Where did you hear it? I haven't heard him in any full role of any sort yet.
It's creepy that he's acting alongside Allwine's widow...

I\'ve heard him, this is his first ever role being Mickey Mouse.

Wow, look at FF13 go down, I expected this game to do really well and there it is going lower every week real fast. Plus the decrease in hardware was pretty rough too, Home consoles that is.

Look up Bret Iwan on YouTube, and you'll get a playlist full of Disney on ice. The Mickey you hear is him; he provided the voice of Mickey for some recent Disney on ice events.

I heard they messed up the story. My friends don't know what the heck is going on. I played KH 1 and 2. I never played the handhelds, but they are essential to the story. Way to try and milk money outta me Square Smilie

Final Fantasy games in Japan do drop very quickly. Everyone who wants it buy it at release. FF13 has done very well and lives up to past iterations.
