I'm hoping for a 3DS messaging system and a new Mario Kart 7 channel, for swapping Ghost Data and arranging race meets with friends.

Thank goodness. Honestly, I've been waiting for more news directly from Nintendo...

All the negativity that has spread to the rest of the internet (even other diehard Nintendo console news and reviews sites) has been killer on the moral. ...I'm wondering if Nintendo will try to ease any of the moaning and groaning directly - or if they'll just "speak with their actions". ...which most people won't listen to until Christmas, I feel.

I'am not getting my hopes up for this conference because I doubt anything major will be announced. I wouldn't mind proven wrong though.

I wish they would stream this stuff on the 3DS...ie...you could see the new 3DS games IN 3D--not 2D videos on computer screen.

I joined this late and all I could understand is the 3 different Mario-related styles for the 3DS and that we will be getting 3D Classics: Kid Icarus on the eShop.

...What about the November update?

Meh, you didn't miss much.

I don't suppose we can message people with the 3DS yet? No? ok.

There was some kind of messaging software, but I wasn't sure if it was something you needed to buy separate or not.

It seems that our wishes have finally come true. There'll be a free messaging app coming to the eShop this December (hopefully in time for Mario Kart 7).

Nintendo is providing a free 3DS messaging app on the eShop this December.

Nintendo Letter Box will let you send messages to your friends using StreetPass and SpotPass.

As well as being able to write and draw your own messages and choose the design of your writing paper, you can also attach 3D photos and even voice clips you've recorded using the 3DS Sound App.

Seems that those who were hoping for the basic ability to send messages to people on their friends list are about to get that and a whole lot more. Awesome.

Here's a short video showing it off:

Finally, Nintendo were listening to our request.Smilie

I wanted to know when the GBA games were coming. Smilie

@SirLink - But, will you be able to use it whilst you have other software suspended? If not... it's practically pointless. I hope it's added to the top buttons, like the friends list, game notes, browser, etc.

I'm guessing it'll be it's own program you have to boot up separately. Smilie

Ugh... I mean, it's a nice incentive, but it would be a lot better if you could suspend the game/app you're currently using to send a message to one of your friends.

Funny how it seemed to be announced really soon after I made that comment, aha..
Can't wait tho omg.
