Some good news has emerged just before E3 in the form of a new European trademark appearing for Level-5's Inazuma Eleven Strikers on Wii, the pure football-based spin-off from the Japanese developer's highly rated portable Football RPG series. Whilst the first Inazuma Eleven on Nintendo DS fared well across Europe when Nintendo released it in 2011, its sequel, the duo of Inazuma Eleven 2: Blizzard and Inazuma Eleven 2: Firestorm have been greeted with more of a muted response in the UK this year, but thankfully is doing well enough in the rest of mainland Europe (especially Italy and Spain) to warrant the Wii game being brought over as well.
Although nowhere near as phenomenally popular as the million-selling RPG series, this first Wii football title plays somewhat like Next Level Games' Mario Strikers Charged Football, also on Wii, and managed to sell over 200,000 units in Japan despite the dwindling Wii presence in that country. Featuring elaborate special moves and plenty of extra mini-games as an aside, Inazuma Eleven Strikers could be the perfect treat for the football hungry Europeans eager to get more football goodness after the Euro 2012 Championships and the Team GB football matches in the London 2012 Olympics.
No official confirmation has been given yet, but hopefully it will not be too long before this arrives on European shores. Cubed3 will take a closer look at the Japanese release very soon to give a better idea of what to expect.
