Moon Chronicles Confirmed for Nintendo 3DS as Episodic Remake on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Renegade Kid has officially announced a Nintendo 3DS remake to the DS shooter Moon with upgraded graphics and control.

Following the same storyline as the 2009 DS original, Moon Chronicles will be available as four seasons, spanning 16 chapters in total. A second season, with brand new content, is planned for sometime next year.

Commenting on the decision to release the remake episodically, Renegade Kid co-founder Jools Watsham likened the feel of the game to "TV shows like Lost" and wants to "cement the feeling where you watch an episode, you have a cliffhanger, and you absolutely need to watch the next one", he told IGN.

The game itself will be rebuilt ground-up to take advantage of the wider-screen and aiming to run at a solid 60 frames-per-second with the 3D stereoscopic effected both on or off.

There are also a handful of screenshots to view, accessible via the following QR code on a 3DS.

I was interested until they said It's episodic, there's absolutely no reason for this, seems like a ploy to try and make more money out of it, probably release them as £14.99 per episode, I definitely won't be paying £59.96 for any 3DS game.

Aparently its quite a decent pricing structure;

  • Episode 1: $8.99 (contains chapters 1 - 4 + 6 VR Missions: ~4 hours of gameplay).
  • Episode 2 (as DLC): $1.99 (contains chapters 5 - 8: ~2 hours of gameplay).
  • Episode 3 (as DLC): $1.99 (contains chapters 9 - 12: ~2 hours of gameplay).
  • Episode 4 (as DLC): $1.99 (contains chapters 13 - 16: ~2 hours of gameplay).

Well that shut me up Smilie lol yeah I'll probably pick it up If thats correct, I enjoyed the first original on DS

I'd pick it up at that kind of price, i saw an article on IGN with these prices so I'm hoping that its accurate. Looks like it will be good! Here's hoping!
