How the GamePad Would be used in Xenoblade Chronicles X on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Just how will Xenoblade Chronicles X use the Wii U GamePad? Producer Tetsuya Takahashi has explained how.

In an interview with UK magazine Edge, Takahashi was quizzed on just how the team want to take advantage of the Wii U setup in the forthcoming adventure.

He noted how the studio feels the GamePad would be "perfect to use as a navigation device", likening the controller to a tablet. There'll be "important features related to the Game system", in addition to current objectives shown on the touch-screen. It will create a "very user-friendly experience," Takahashi believes.

Planned for a release on Nintendo Wii U next year, the forthcoming exclusive is also said to be more than five times bigger in scope than its Wii predecessor.

So...in other words...a map Smilie
I think we can assume if theres any dought or question for any games screen use....it will be a map.

Not that a game needs fantastically original use of the pad to be good or anything.

A map and a more convenient way to track side quests on the GamePad is far more useful that it sounds, especially in an RPG with an insane scale like this one. I might be fancy again and have the GamePad in its stand in front of me while I play with my Pro controller, though. Smilie

Agreed, mayhaps even a way to track down item drops once you've either discovered said item or undertaken a quest requiring them. It would DEFINITELY help with fetch quests among other things.

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422
