Nintendo Wii News | Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Expert Mode

By Karn Spydar Lee Bianco 14.09.2006 23

Quick News: IGN are reporting that the latest build of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption includes an 'expert control mode' that is more akin to a mouse and keyboard set up than the previous version's control scheme shown at E3. The new control method allows for easier maneuverability within the game and seems to have put all previous concerns well and truly to rest.

Stick with C3 for more updates...

this is brilliant news. It should be in red steel as well though. I hope the 'argos' rumour isn't true...I nearly cried!

Need videos!

Jamain, argos?

I read this on ign about an hour or two ago. Awesome news!Smilie I saw it in motion, and it moves smooth as **** !Smilie

~Getting on C3's massive tits since 2K5.~

The new vids of the game seem to show this improved level of control i think

argos?

Oh, I found the control scheme from 1 and 2 better then all FPS-schemes on PC! But with the new controller I have to try them all out - expert mode or not...

But it's good to see Ubisoft (Red Steel) and Nintendo and Retro Studios taking care about the concerns from people like press and us (naive of me, don't you think?)...

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

The video on IGN just makes it look exactly the same but faster. You still push your head around with your gun arm like a weirdo.

The argos thing is that argos (the shop) have the Wii listed for spring 2007 release. It's bollocks, only yesterday Iwata re confirmed a global launch before the end of 2006.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

ive never been a fan of keyboard controls myself they are crap, but ask any fps fan and they will tell you different F**ckin nerds the lot of em, did you khow there is a sword fighting game on the release list some kinda Kendo thing

Is it not nerdy to be getting uptight over fps controls? Smilie I think all of us here are at least partly nerdy. Some of more than others Smilie

I think keyboard mouse controls are good, but I'd prefer nun-chuck and mouse. Analogue movement ftw! Probably wouldn't have enough buttons mind.

Ign ran a story on it - I hope it's just ps3 related confusion, but according to Ign the march 2007 website used to say 2006. Fingers crossed eh...

Have to see some videos it looked great but a bit slow and clunky in place.

Awesome. Mark my words, this is going to be epic

I think the one they used (the box one) seems easier...

I saw the video and read the hands-on. Looks like the game had some impressive boost on gameplay and graphic. And now, im even more anxious.

Open your mind, and see across the wall you have build. Free yourself.

Calender year or financial year?

considering that the first control system made everyone think that the was going to be terrible im quite happy to hear it hope it works well Smilie

So... Was I the only one who saw the videos and realised that the control scheme is exactly the same? It's not like a mouse and keyboard set up at all... It's just more sensitive

Still a proud member of the 'omfg amazing water in games' society

I saw a video of it today at school (with Samus in the middle of a space battle between the Feds and Pirates ships). The controls look great! If it is as responsive as keyboard and mouse, then this is TOO good because it has the accuracy and responsiveness of the mouse while being fun to use.

really need to see it in action

Try:

GameTrailers

or

IGN

They've got some pretty good ones. Smilie
