The C3 staff team have been out and about all over the country to bring you some tip-top on the site coverage. We'll have an extensive video launch report coming your way this weekend and loads more top content over the next few days as Wii fever grips the UK and the rest of Europe.
Some quick sales news for you, and within 12 hours of being on sale the Nintendo Wii has sold 50,000 units in the UK alone. That figure (apparently) translates to about one console every second. Madness.
However, it isn't all good news. A number of stores haven't been able to meet pre-order demand leaving a lot of people disappointed. If you didn't manage to get your Wii pre-order let us know here at C3 by commenting on this news item. The BBC has a very negative sounding article about the Wii launch and we'll be keeping an eye on the situation to see how consoles start moving around the country and retailers over the coming days. But what did David have to say, well...
David Yarnton, General Manager, Nintendo UK says; "We are delighted with the amazing response to Wii and that people of all ages and gaming experience are embracing the way that we are turning the industry on its head. With so many units sold it is great to see that people will be enjoying Wii with their families this Christmas. We are doing everything we can do to meet demand throughout Christmas and the New Year period."
Until we bring you a video report and loads of fun-tastic launch content, we've been out and about in Cardiff today to bring you some pics of the Wii scene in Wales (exciting, isn't it?) and our very own Phil Beveridge got some snaps and footage of the Wii launch at his local GAME store. More Wii goodness oh so soon, to stay tuned.
