Nintendo Media | Smash Update: Twilight Princess Lands in Brawl

By Jorge Ba-oh 06.07.2007 22

One of The Legend of Zelda's most breathtaking scenes from Twilight Princess arrives in Brawl, Bridge of Eldin, complete with cameo appearances from King Bulblin and Lord Bullbo.

One of the biggest, ugliest enemies from Twilight Princess, King Bulblin, makes appearances and occasionally uses bombs to create holes in the stage. Missing chunks are respawned via portals to fill the stage up once more.

Be sure to stick around for more Smash Bros. Brawl updates...

Another basic stage...

Anyway, it looks VERY awesome. And the bridge breaking could bring in some interesting gameplay.

Very very happy about this, great idea, it looks epic and the crumbling bridge and Moblins should make it interesting. This game is turning out to be a celebration of Nintendo at it's very best. [LS]

And Twilight Realm creatures it would seem also, in packs of three likely.

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

This is a great looking level.Smash bros brawl is going to be huge i can't wait.:cooldude::cooldude:

ULTIMATE WII GAMER!!!

Nice idea, but a little choppy visually imo - though probably looks better in motion!

I love it! Smilie It looks awsome and if you not careful you can die easy... great strategy wise aswell... coz if the middle breaks then you gonna fall down... if you go to teh right or left the other player might throw you off... brilliant stage! Smilie *I HEART IT*

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Looks very nice.... not technically sounds but thanks to the lighting it looks nice.

I like how it's very basic and small. With the random bridge collapsing, it should be a very frantic and fun level.

They should do a level based on the old NES Donkey Kong, where there's all these slightly-sloped platforms connected ladders, and there's barrels continuously rolling down the slopes. It'd be crazy having to fight and avoid barrels.

Yeah it would be great basing a few levels around those classic G&W games. [LS]

It does look cool. I wish they'd make a few more stages that had more platforms and stuff though. Like Oni's idea, I guess.

Now that would be a GREAT level. Smilie

I reckon they should have a free fall level, with small platforms that let you recover after a UP + B attack or kill you if you stay on too long.

If Nintendo now mysteriously include that level, you all have to buy me pints Smilie

I think they will include something like it, it seems like such a obvious concept to bring to life. Older Nintendo gamers will appreciate it. Here's hoping there is a Paper Mario level too with ParaGoomba aerial assaults.

I think Viewtiful Joe should be in this game also, he is perfect for it!. If he is, that would make me very happy as I love the character and his inclusion may suggest a Wii game is in the works. RedHot Rumble {brawl like] is actually great fun if you are a huge fan and all the players you play against are well seasoned with the controls. [LS]

How would you slow down time with Joe though? It doesn't work multiplayer, unless that his Ulti (final smash).

Like you say it could be a finshing move, but also if they could have drop-in V pils like is done in Red Hot Rumble you could use such powers for short periods of time. It would be great to have him there, and Slyvia also perhaps, Capcom have yet to unviel anyone right?, VJ is the perfect candidate. [LS]

They'll probably just chuck in Jill Valentine.

It would be a shame if they did given the cast of great characters they have at their disposal that are far more fitting for this game. [LS]

Don't necessarily work like that though, does it? Konami have about 1,000,003 characters more befitting of Smash Bros than Solid Snake, yet Snake got the nod because he's a huge name. Nintendo wants big names, and Viewtiful Joe isn't really a big name. On that note, it could just as easily be a character or two from Street Fighter as from Resident Evil, I suppose. Which would be cool. Better than VJ, in my opinion.

Yeah, while I love Viewtiful Joe, I think a Street Fighter character (Probably Ryu obviously) would be more likely, and work better in fact. He's more well-known and his moves would be far easier to translate into Smash Bros. You can't really mess with time or zoom in in a game where everyone's displayed on the same screen like Smash Bros, and that's all Joe has really...

I can just see an enormous Hadoken for Ryu's Final Smash... *.*

Shiiiinkuuuuu... HADOOOOUUKEN!

Still a proud member of the 'omfg amazing water in games' society

I had a feeling they would fire in a stage based on the Twilight Princess world, looks very nice albeit a bit basic.
