The latest Virtual Console update for Europe has just hit Wii systems this morning, but the French will be missing out on one particular game, 'Skate or Die', due to legal restrictions, apparently. Below are the games on offer this week:
"Make sure you've limbered up as this week's Virtual Console update brings you some sporting classics! First up is Skate or Die, the original skateboarding action game, which first appeared on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990. Featuring challenging ramps, technically taxing half-pipes and stunt spots, players must try and master these as they compete in one of the five skate events on offer! So get your skateboard at the ready and download Skate or Die this week for 500 Wii Points!"Continuing in the sporting theme is Blades of Steel, Konami's ice hockey simulation. First found on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990, this fast paced hockey title features eight teams for players to compete in; and with three difficulty levels- Junior, College and Pro to choose from, players will really have their skills put to the test, playing against the computer or against a friend as they take part in Exhibition or Tournament matches. Get hold of Blades of Steel this week, available for 500 Wii Points.
"If you want to try something a little different this week, check out Monster Lair. This action platform title, released on Turbografx CD in 1990, sees players taking control of a green-haired boy or a pink-haired girl as they race across platforms and fly around on a dragon, confronting bosses in their quest to save their land from destructive invaders. Available for 800 Wii Points, this dynamic game can be downloaded now!"
This brings the total for the Virtual Console in Europe up to 175 games, with just one more update scheduled this year. As for those 'legal restrictions', if anyone knows what they are, be sure to post below.
Stick around for further updates...
