The latest first day sales for the new releases in Japan have now been revealed by blogger sinobi and it makes for very sad reading for companies like Square Enix, Sega, Bandai Namco and Capcom.

Quick News - The 'Minna no Nintendo Channel' (Everbody's Nintendo Channel) is in full flow over in Japan, with the current major promotion being for Super Mario Galaxy, showing how moves in New Super Mario Bros. are similar to the Wii game. Seems Nintendo is pushing the game to the 4.5million+ owners of the DS game!

Quick News: E3, the industry's yearly flashy lights and scantily clad woman extravaganza (with less flashy lights and boob tubes last year) is to return to the Los Angeles Convention Centre for 2008. Whilst it will still be the long winded E3 Media and Business Summit (for easier networking and more professional interaction between developers/publishers and the media) it will probably scale up a bit in size from the 2007 event which took place in Santa Monica. No more details have been revealed as of yet. New Mother/Earthbound Coming to the US?
Quick News - Surfer Girl strikes again, this time bringing up memories of Reggie talking about the Mother RPG series. The rumour-filled blogger mentions how the franchise will return on Wii or DS soon, later clarifying it may not be 'new', just a game that has not come to the US yet.

Publisher Take-Two Interactive has today revealed its financial results for the fourth quarter period, stating that sales are up to $292.6 million, with losses halved to $7.1 million. Will GTA come to Wii, though? Looks like 'no'.

Whilst the Nintendo DS only just broke the UK record for the highest sales in a seven-day period, it has now gone and smashed its own record just a couple of weeks later!

Quick News - Whilst Nintendo Japan's release schedule from a few months back still had the GameCube Kirby project listed as a Wii game for 2008, the UK Official Magazine states otherwise. In an 'Ask Nintendo' feature, the response said fans should just await Kirby's appearance in Smash Bros.!

Whilst it is clearly fantastic news that Nintendo is selling out of Wii consoles around the world at such an amazingly fast rate, it also leaves some negative consequnces as the company is in the tricky position of not really being able to properly plan out the next few months of releases due to the lack of new systems available.

The latest issue of Famitsu has revealed some very interesting pieces of information on Mistwalker's second DS-exclusive project, following ASH for Nintendo. Called 'AWAY: Shuffle Dungeon', the game is being co-developed by the Father of Final Fantasy, Hironbu Sakaguchi and is eagerly awaited.
