Animal Crossing and Kirby on Nintendo Wii in 2008

By Adam Riley 29.01.2008 16

Whilst there was a lot of hullabaloo recently about the Official Nintendo Magazine printing a response from Nintendo UK that said there was no Kirby game in development for Wii, just as Cubed3 pointed out at the time, it has been proven to be nothing more than a load of PR spiel. Clearly attention wanted to be drawn away from the fact that Nintendo Europe has yet to date the Wii upgrade of Hoshi no Kirby from the GameCube, despite the Japanese arm confirming it (several times, including in its recent financial report) for a 2008 release. Also, NoE will have wanted people to focus on Smash Bros., no doubt.

So Kirby fans rejoice, as the pink puffster will not only be appearing in Smash Bros. Brawl, as well as the DS remake of Kirby's Fun Pak from the SNES, but his very own Wii platform adventure.

Elsewhere, it was reconfirmed that Animal Crossing on Wii will also be released later this year, which is again great news! But will it have strong online content, as many are hoping?

Stay tuned for more updates right here on Cubed3...

You're not looking forward to Mario Kart for Wii? Smilie

(Granted, I'm looking forward to ACWii and Brawl more than Mario Kart, but still...it is Mario Kart!! Smilie )

Oh yeah... forgot about that too...
Fine, something ELSE to look forward to Smilie The Wii does need this, even if it aready has Brawl and Mario Kart. 2 games do not fill a year! But 4 games will do a better job!

w00t, Animal Crossing. Smilie

Loved the 'Cube one...I reckon felt nicer than the DS one for some reason...definately fantastic news. Smilie Scribble them on the wanted list, along with Brawl, Mario Kart, and ToS. Smilie

Defo. The GC one had more of an atmsosphere, and free NES games. Better than the DS one in my opinion Smilie the Wii one can only improve on that.

Yay Animal Crossing! That means it will now only be delayed until mid 2009! SmilieSmilie Seriously though, you know we aren't going to get it this year. All that means is that instead of being delayed from mid 2009, it will be delayed to mid 2009.

Still though, will be awesome if we do get it this year. Mario Kart + Animal Crossing in one year will be reminiscent of 2005 for the DS in the US.

Animal Crossing Wii...I wait for thee.

A fail so epic, it may just be a win.

Go pink balls!

Very good news indeed!!! I was disappointed that Kirby Adventure wasnt released on the GC so very good news its coming to Wii!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Sorry, but there's no need to post that in so many threads Smilie especially since most of it has been on the Spoiler thread since this morning.

animal crossing. im not sure how co op would work on 1 wii as you would both have to be in the same screen (actually like CC would work ok) im hoping for a much bigger world, and more than 8 pepole in a village. i would also liek the NPC's to have more interaction in the world instead of walking and following things with their eyes. and new updates from wifi/play. also, have the weather change according to what its like in the real world through the weather channel^^
high expectations for this game.

Yeah, I'd also like to make it so playing AC every day wasn't such a task, and not playing for a week wouldn't result in tons of annoying Weeds and all your villagers saying YOU NEVER VISIT ME!! I HATE YOU!!!

"WHY DO I LOVE IT SO MUCH?!" XD

Pretty much sums it up. :p

November/December for Animal Crossing.

Woo, can't wait for AC. Wonder what they'll implement in the Wii version, better be damn good.
