Fine, touch screen PC's and future, more powerful, PDAs.
PDA graphics and specs are too weak for using a ds emulator.
I agree and anyway DS uses 2 screens, PDA only one.
I give the l337 h4xx0rz of the world another 6 months max .
And a subsequent six years before you can get any working roms.
a wacom pad with a pc would be possible, but really the area is a little big to work in; the problem is the touch area isnt actually standardised in size with tablets. Plus a lot of games require you to be able to point at and hit stuff on the bottom screen...i.e. you need to touch the screen, not a tablet. An actual touch monitor is a possibility though... tablet pcs would be an option. Or smart boards if you can find one...
PDA's have faster proccessors than the DS right?
But the graphical abilities on them are more so PSone Era.
No, I don't think it will be too long before PDAs canrun DS emus - newer ones run at anything up to 566MHz, I think(!). The big obstacle is efficiency of code. I definitely won't be long before a PC DS emulator, though.
What about things like the microphone though? How will that be incorparated unless the PDA was designed to play DS games (which would basically just be a DS anyway!)
Mic might be a problem... a mic designed for memos, perhaps?
More to the point, why bother?! If you have a PDA that costs
maby they will make a way so your mouse works as your finger.

yes, i had the same theory as well.
Possible, not probable.
In theory no.
Many PDA's use arm9 processors, so it must be possible; would probably need a high spec pda to do it though, especially as you would have to emulate both the arm7 and arm9.
RobTheBuilder: Why would you have to emulate the processor if it's being run on the same processor? I assume the processors are both ARMs (and not an ARM and an Intel XScale) in the DS because they can work along side each other. On the PDA, only the NDS's OS would have to be emulated.
Also, here's a thought for a PC DS emu, why not use the mouse? It would work the same damn way as the stylus would. The only reason the NDS uses a stylus is because including a mouse wouldn't be as portable.
edit: sorry, wrong thread

It'll happen, but where'd the fun in it?
It could happen, but I don't think downloading 128MB ROMs is gonna take off. Even for people with braodband. The only reason why N64 emulation worked was because the ROMs were still reletively small. The largest only being 64MB.
Are there any decent sites where I can get an N64 emu and ROMs?
Not really, they are all full of porn/spyware/virus popups; or tell you to vote for them first and then never give you the file.
I tried it as a solution to setting the darn console up, but ive only ever managed to get about three games!
I've got a ton of N64 ROMs on a DVD
Project 64 is a nice emulator, but linking to ROMs is illegal, so I won't. (not even secretly)
Bah. My PC's too slow to play '64 Roms.
