Thought I would create a thread were we can share our favourite songs by Michael Jackson.

My favourite would have to Beat It. I especially love the guitar solo in it and I would find myself doing air guitar to it when I was younger, all the time.

My others are Man in the Mirror, Billie Jean and Rock With You. I love a lot of his other stuff just as much though, I couldn't write them all down, otherwise my post would be very large.

What are your favourite Michael Jackson songs?

One of my faves is Earth Song. I just love it and find it a powerful song that still gives me goosebumps today. Smilie

I also love Heal the World, Ghosts and They Don't Care About Us amongst loads more. Smilie

Man In The Mirror. Smilie

Beat It for me as well. I love the gongs at the beginning >_>

Even though all of his songs are good my favourites are:

1. Billie Jean
2. Give it to me
3. Man in the Mirror
4. Beat it
5. Smooth Criminal
6. Liberian Girl
7. Dirty Diana

I think Liberian Girl. I've never bought an album by the guy, but that song is a good one.

I've not really heard his songs much, but I'm sure I would recognise the majority of them.

Some of my faves are definitely Smooth Criminal and Beat It Smilie

By the way did he actually write the songs or just sing and dance to them?

Tupac used a sample from that song for letter to my unborn, you'll notice if you listen again and have heard the other. Erm my favourites at the moment would be Dirty Diana, Speed Demon & Girlfriend, found myself listening to a lot of his old stuff like Got to be there, you've got a friend and ben.

Well tupac didn't have any musical talent I think, from what I understand he just wrote lyrics. But that's a different discussion. Sorry for the off-topicness.

I think he did write them himself but also co-wrote some of them. He didn\'t have full control over some of the songs but heavily influenced the final sound, lyrics etc

I believe he wrote, composed, etc., a lot of his own stuff. However, he definitely also had things written for him and collaborated with people like Quincy Jones a fair bit, too.

He did write most of his songs.

Most of his songs were really good Smilie

Can't really beat his dancing, he always did the same dance with a little bit added each time though.

1) The Way You Make Me Feel
2) Earth Song
3) Beat It
4) Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough
5) Dirty Diana

Impossible question.

Queue up Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough, turn it up to 11 on a decent system, sit back, let that intro hit you, and try and sit still. It's fucking chilling. Joyous. 30 years old that track. 30 years, and the massive grin I get when I hear that opening 'dum dum dur-dum' always returns. Incredible that a collection of beats and notes can make you feel so good.

Less posty, more gamey.

Tisk Tisk... Thriller anyone?

YOU GOTS THE THRILLA!!! THRILLA!!!

"Don't stop" as its so damn funky!

Beat it, for the soul reason it has a fucking shredding metal style solo in it.

Other than that, im not a huge fan of his material..

Aki-T spilt the water.

Yeah Van Halen's solo is class!

Woah woah.. i wouldn't go that far, but i still love the solo in it :p

Aki-T spilt the water.

This is one of the sadest days in the history of music. The king of pop. Dead.

I actually have tears in my eyes, I wasn't a huge fan of his, but I have 100% respect for him and his music. His contribution to the pop world made it what it is today. Long live his music and long live pop. R.I.P Micheal.

So sad to see him go like this... Smilie

So wierd, I got this huge chill down my back as I read chilling...

I'm not going into lists so it has to be Billie Jean and Ben. I chose these because Billie Jean was what put his solo career on track and the first song he did the moonwalk to.

As for Ben, a child that young giving an huge performance full of emotion is just ridiculous. Off the Wall was best album hands down.

Just Kidding, even though that episode is one of my favorites. I never really listen to Michael Jackson, but I like "Thriller".

Mario, Mega Man and Rayman FTW!!!
