Did you order a game? Is there one you're currently playing?

I ordered Black Ops 2: Hardened Edition for PS3. It launches on my birthday! Got no idea what's in the Hardened Edition, and I don't wanna know until I open it. Last one I got like this was the Halo Reach 'Black Box'. Came with a bunch of useless stuff, and I imagine this will be the same. Still, I thought "Fuck it, why not? It's my birthday!".

Bring on the zombies!

Trying to get a few games in the backlog finished.

Valkyria Chronicles
Prince of Persia
American McGee's Alice

Flicking on and off with some portable stuff when I can be arsed.

Prof Layton & Curious Village
Project Rub
Final Fantasy Type-0

Playing Doom II on PS3. Got done with Doom 3 (got those multiplayer trophies!) and Ultimate Doom. Now I just have Doom II, Resurrection of Evil, and The Lost Mission to finish. Then I've got to do all three Doom 3 parts on Nightmare difficulty. I will get this platinum! Wish me luck!

Is Curious Village your first Layton game? If so, you should get on with the Layton series, even if you're not too keen on the puzzling aspect. The stories are absolutely fantastic and usually end at a right tearjerker.

I'm currently playing through Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, only on Chapter 3 atm, but I'm absolutely loving it so far. Other than that, I'm just playing stuff like Minecraft 360 on the side.

Yep, picked up on a whim in a GAME sale. Didn't even know it was the first in the series, so got lucky there if I do decide to go through them all. Only played it a few mins so right at the start, but will see if I continue it randomly. I'm a big fan of puzzlers so looking forward to it.

Currently flicking between Another Code R (looks really good on an HDTV), Final Fantasy III/VI on Virtual Console (thank god for instant loading times), Let's Golf 3D (surprisingly decent for a Gameloft game), 999 (having a little break from it; kinda tired of doing the first task over and over), and Jump Ultimate Stars. Quite a load. Once you get far enough into the game you'll be so engrossed into the story that you won't want to put it down. That's what happened to me anyways. Smilie

If you love puzzles and well written stories, with unexpected results, I'm sure you'll love the Layton series. It truly is one of the best series to embrace the DS and now the 3DS.

I recently bought "To the Moon." I'm really busy with school and stuff right now, but hopefully in the next week or two there will be a lull and I'll get a chance to play this. It seems like a real gem.

If anyone else is curious, it's $10 on GOG, Steam, and from the developer's site.

I think Another Code R has some of the best loading screens ever. FFVI on VC doesn't have load times but the trade off is annoying spelling errors. I've just completed 999 and got the true ending, its such a slap in the face. I still wanna play Virtues Last Reward though.

I'm currently playing Breath of Fire 2 which looks really good for a SNES RPG. The translation doesn't seem that great and the random battle encounter rate is up there with FFVI and Skies of Arcadia for its viciousness. I'm also playing a bit of Super Picross when I get bored of the turn based combat.

Crunch of school is hitting me pretty hard at the moment. All I've really had time for this semester is a spot of Minecraft here and there. Halo 4 launch has forced me to enjoy some gaming over the last few days though.

I've recently completed the excellent Another Code R, so now I will move on to The Last Story and Pandora's Tower, then possibly spend some time with Muramasa: The Demon Blade. There are some original Xbox games that I'm going to revisit as well. NFS Underground 2 and SSX Tricky are begging me to play them.

Played a couple hours of Black Ops 2 multiplayer. I hate to say it, but they've really outdone themselves with this one. It's so awesome!

Bioshock 2. Had heard it wasn't as good as the first, so went in with low expectations, but I've been really enjoying this. Rapture is just such an awesome place, and the Little Sisters are oh so cute.

Yeah I saw you were playing that. BioShock 2 is very good, no mistake. However it is also a retread of Rapture, and...

^Don't read that, Az.

Excellent game, it's just that it's too similar to the original to really take it's crown. The Big Sisters are a cool addition and all that. But yeah. BioShock isn't one of those games that's just about the gameplay (which they did add to in the sequel). It's much more about the atmosphere and storytelling, where the original blew us all away.

Yeah, that's what I'd read prior to playing, and what I've gathered from playing myself -- that the story just isn't as good as the first, and that it was just a case of 'same old, same old.' It's possibly a reason why I didn't jump into Bio2 quicker than I did. But thankfully, it hasn't really become too much of a problem because Rapture is such an incredible place, although that 'same old,' slightly repetitive feeling is lingering a little bit now. The dialogue between the splicers is hilarious.

Well yeah, exactly. Luckily for BioShock 2, Rapture is such an incredible place that even the second time it is pretty awesome. Just not as awesome. Nothing in the sequel's storyline measures up to the 'would you kindly' revelation in the original, as well as just not being quite as good.

I do hate to pick on BioShock 2, since it is still an excellent game, and in the scheme of things, better than 80% of titles you'd pick up for your PS3/360 anyway. I wonder if BioShock Infinite can be as good as the original? Same developer, new setting, almost 6 year development cycle. One to get excited about, if you ask me!

Well I really fucking enjoyed that, Martin. Now I can really look forward to BioShock Infinite. I'm glad I know what all the fuss is about with BioShock now. Once you get to the final few hours of Bio2, that's when everything gets awesome.

I adore the style of the characters in BioShock, especially in CG scenes. I hope we can some day play games with that level of quality.

Just watched the 15 min gameplay of Infinite from E3'11, and fucking hell, I want it. I hope we get to see more women like Elizabeth during gameplay.

On topic: Playing Apollo Justice on DS, and need to get Nights into Dreams and Prince of Persia done. Got a couple of decent puzzlish games on PSN, too - Dyad and Cubixx HD.
