" New Nintendo 3DS was a wise decision?"

No. Its stupid and dumb and stupid dumb.
Its worse even then Marvels "All New Marvel Now".

They should have gone for something that explictly represents the differences.
"3dsiTrack" ? "

While uncreative even something like "3ds mk2" or "3dsDX" would be better as its clearly verbally a unique thing.
"new 3ds" is very ambiguous in conversation. Especially if your looking to buy one second hand

"can I swap my 3ds for a new 3ds?"
"do you mean a new new 3ds or a old new 3ds"
"my 3ds is new but Id like a new one"
"A new new 3ds?"
"no, an old new 3ds, I am swapping my new old 3ds for new"
etc

its a stupid name, almost as bad as the wii u name.

they should have called it Super 3DS.

same with the wii u- Super Wii.

Then people could say they had a Swii which is fun to say SWwiiiiiiiiii

They're a bunch of idiots.

"3DS Plus" would have been completely valid than the crap they used.

Some sort of number indicator could have gone a long way.

Wii 2 instead of Wii U,
3DS and 3DS II or 3DS+ or Plus or anything besides New.  New can be very ambiguous

I just don't understand why they couldn't call the WiiU something else entirely.

I always thought at the very least Vi would have made more sense.
ie, Nintendo 6
Nes,Snes,N64,Gamecube,Wii, Vi

We all know that this is a translation problem. In Japan using this name is commonplace and makes sense, it suits the Japanese market hense the naming pattern. However with western markets such a term is stupid and borderline idiotic, this shows Nintendo's lack of international marketing appeal at the very core. I am sure someone in the European or American office would have said something but to me there seems to be a lot of yes-men in the background who don't want to fight with Japanese management.

In all honesty I think the name 3DS is also stupid, it should have been named something else completely to differentiate itself from the DS!
