More Sonic Colours Wii Details, Screens and Toys on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

With Sonic once again zipping onto the Wii and DS this fall, more details of the Wii version have come from TGS this week.

A new Wisp power was revealed, the Blue Wisp - an ickle cube that switches blue blocks for blue rings, allowing players to encounter new routes that were previously inaccessible. The power also destroys nearby enemies when landing on the ground closeby.

  • Players die if running out of Wisp power when using the Drill.
  • Bottomless pits are present, but the game will try to warn players when upcoming hazzards aren't immediately obvious.
  • "SLAM" bonuses for destroying all enemies in a built up area using a Wisp power or dash.
  • Via TSSZNews.

Those who nab special-edition bundle (confirmed for Australia/Europe for now) will receive neat Sonic figures, White, Cyan, and Orange wisps for the Wii edition with the DS edition including Yellow, Red, and Blue.

A whole load of new screenshots of the Aquatic Park world and additional co-operative snaps were revealed. Want more? There's even the amusing Japanaze advert to check out after the break.

These Wisps seem to be getting more and more weird by the minute. I have seen this on Sonic Stadium so it is old news for me, but it just seems to look more and more impressive by the second, the graphics look too good for a Wii game. The detail is just great.

Oh god this water level ruins it all for me. They sucked in Sonic 3 and Sonic 2. I hate water levels in any game Smilie:-x Not good at all SEGA, not good Smilie

Loving the box art but the toys look really goofy xD
The co op also seems pretty awesome so it's got a bit of added replay value there.

Hydrocity and Aquatic Ruin were excellent stages. There has to be some water levels in the game to make it more interesting. But after Sonic 3 there have not been any water levels since this one in colours. But everyone has their opinion, so I will not begrudge your say. Smilie

I hope you have a job lol

I'm not sure how, but, graphically, this game looks really good.

I guess SEGA took a few tips from how the way SMG2 looked and tried to get Sonic in the same graphics line. I have to admit I think this will have better graphics than the 2 story book games and even better than Unleashed on the Wii. Maybe if this goes as well as SEGA have been hyping it up, there could be a sequel on the way.

Those were the worst levels for me, as well. I also don't like water levels in Sonic games.

askjfhakjfhdsh I hope they're not too expensive @_@ If so maybe I'll just get one of them. I mean one of the special editions, I'm definitely getting both versions of the game!
