By Adam Riley 04.09.2006 12

Update - Cubed3 has just been sent some updated details for fans of the series. Many thanks to Ted Bather at Criterion Licensing for the information.

GMTV is currently playing the new series on a weekly basis at 8:15am during Toonattik. This week - commencing 4th September - it is repeating the first four new episodes on GMTV2/ITV2 at 7:55am. Then, from Friday 8th September, it will take a step back in time to show classic episodes from the original series!

For reference, in its first weekend of showing the new series, Biker Mice from Mars was the most watched show on GMTV across the whole of that weekend.

More details can be found on the official website: www.bikermice.tv and there is also an online game to try out here: http://www.catalystpics.co.uk/clients/criterion/bikermice/bmmracing.html

With such a furore surrounding the new series, it seems that the game could definitely be a large hit upon release!

The Game Factory have today issued a press release detailing loads of information about their new title for Nintendo DS and PS3, Biker Mice from Mars. Based on the 1990s TV cult hit of the same name and being released alongside a brand new TV series, this is sure to be a massive hit once more. The press release is below...

As the brand new television series celebrates its UK debut on CITV's Toonattik with fantastic viewing figures, The Game Factory has today announced the launch of Biker Mice from Mars for PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS formats. The action-racing videogame, based on the 90's cartoon classic, is scheduled for release in October 2006

The fearless Biker Mice are ready to rock and roll in this exciting game that sees the trio battle to save their beloved planet Mars. The planet is in the depths of destruction, as water supplies have been sabotaged, and the Biker Mice are facing a race against time to recover the one thing that can save their home; the Regenerator.

However, Hairball, leader of the ruthless feline race 'the Catatonians', and Ronald Rump, an evil corporate land developer, are both out to cause destruction and mischief. They will do anything to capture the Regenerator for their own evil purposes and prevent it from getting into the hands of these do-good Biker Mice.

Playing as one of the three leather-clad Biker Mice - Throttle the cool leader, Vinnie the fun daredevil, or Modo the gentle giant

Cartoons of today are piss poor. Will never be better than Rocko's Modern life or Ren and Stimpy...

Hell even the original Tom and Gerry cartoons are probably deemed "too violent" these days. But they were hilarious, which is the whole point.

Quality toons!

This game doesn't look too bad from what I've seen, could be well worth getting a cheap version Smilie

Awesome news, hopefully the game and new TV series can live up to the classic Biker Mice series of the 90s.

Trying to think of a witty signature after 'Hacker-gate'...

OMG! I cant believe it's back in business. I remember I used to get the toy's an everything and watched the cartoon all the time. Hopefully they wont spoil it like they did with the Teenage Mutant Hero Turtals.

Great update over from Raz now, will have to sit myself down to watch the new episodes (and some classics!) Smilie

Err...those shows scared the crap out of me. They were so creepy and disturbing and...just plain wierd. How can you like that? Unless you were being sarcasticSmilie

I think you are right, tiamat. Scared me too. I think this cartoon is looking awful, considering the picture with the trapped female being rescued by what's looking like a bear with sausages for arms. evil expressions on the faces... clearly time clouds memory, no...? Smilie

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

I love a mouse with a metal arm....
The new episodes should of been screened now right? Verdict? I doubt we'll see those episodes for quite some time ( here in lil' New Zealand )
